"Are we feeling the desification of Wimbledon?"- Diet Sabya.
The Indians at Wimbledon absolutely stole the spotlight this year (For all the good reasons). The list of Indian celebrities that attended Wimbledon goes on and on, to name a few Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and umm…. Avneet Kaur. But my personal favourite is the one and only Neena Gupta, what an icon. watching her videos from the game on instagram felt like an absolute cinematic experience.
Let’s start with our bollywood’s very own fashion icon and the queeeeen of experimenting w/o going wrong, Ms. SONAM KAPOOR AHUJA. She took every single detail to the next level, the Ralph Lauren pinstriped pant suit, with the silk scarf (I don't want the scarf trend to end anytime soon), the tennis racket and strawberry brooches, and my favourite part the vintage Manolo Blahnik heels adorned with mini tennis balls, who can pull that off?
Hands down to Sonam and her stylist/sister Rhea Kapoor. And, can we please take a moment to appreciate Rhea’s work at the Cannes Film Festival for Alia and Janhvi, she is a styling genius.
Next up is, Ms.Janhvi Kapoor, the predicted (hopefully global) Miu Miu brand ambassador wearing head-to-toe Miu Miu for the second time in the month, I am just really praying that she gets to become a global ambassador for Miu Miu, cause she deserves it. Coming back to her Wimbledon look, it was playful yet polished, the silhouette was something new for her, she’s never done something like this before. I appreciate her efforts, but not my favourite. Did I forget to mention it was custom Miu Miu?
Let's get to our global icon, Ms. Priyanka Chopra. I love the dress, its giving wimbledon, its giving old money. But, being one of the best brand ambassadors of bvlgari she did the brand wrong, I wanna see more jewels on those hands and neck, I couldn't even see those earrings on your ears ma’am.
Ms. Avneet Kaur, you look gorgeous and you have done some great work throughout your career, but there are three words I would like to give for that outfit of yours at Wimbledon are: Tacky, Tacky, and…. TACKY (whichever way you understand).
Best for the last, Ms.Neena Gupta. A fan commented on her post “Trust Neena Gupta to always stand out” and I couldn't agree more. I am being serious, she should’ve been a Tennis WAG. Looking at a simple cotton saree at Wimbledon felt like I was watching a feel good movie, she literally proved that zindagi na milegi dobara (you only live once). And she made that fit look so Wimbledon by wearing the halter neck blouse with a brooch. She proves dressing has no age every single time she pulls a look. My last and final words: SHE SERVED AND ATE IT ALL BY HERSELF.
In conclusion, I don’t wanna talk about Urvashi Rautela, and I feel like Sufi Motiwala in written form.
Stay tuned for more fashion news!
I think we can all agree that priyanka Chopra slayed
